My Craft Blog!

This is where I will talk about the crafts I am doing!
Clear enough.

I found this iron-on embridery pattern at a flea market and even though at the time I didn't know exactly what it was, I bought it anyway.
Then, recently, after seeing http://www.sublimestitching.com and doing a little www.craftster.com research, I dug out the pattern from the bottom of a craft box.

I decided to use a linen from the restaurant job I work at which is proving pretty difficult because the fabric is packed so tightly. But just look at this embroidery! Not bad for my first time.

Another needle work project I'm working on is a giant piece, it's a cross stitch of Space Invaders. I took a screen shot of the game and then made a grid pattern on photoshop and voila! I had a cross stitch pattern. This baby has been taking me months to complete though and I feel as though I've gotten nowhere.

Here is a little scarf I'm knitting for a coworker. It's taking me longer than anticipated and I've made a lot of mistakes. She keeps saying, "I'm not going to need a scarf by the time it's done!" and I probably have to agree with her :x But I love the pattern. It's k1, yo, k2tg, p1, repeat.
The NEXT craft I want to show you has to do with my fibers class. We switched off of the looms and onto the dyes. Here I am making stencils out of Freezer Paper, ironing them on, then painting pigment onto the fabric. After that you air cure it, then heat set it with an iron for at least 10 minutes. Here are some of the stencils and pieces I've made so far-

Oh and looking through my photobucket I found a few pictures of my previous fibers project, a computer wire weave and also a double-weave pickup binary code pattern for home-sweet-home
